**Card Position 1**
This represents the current situation. It may describe you, an important factor in the environment you either can use or may have to contend with, or some very relevant point that creates the context of your issue. It will often describe the REAL ISSUE you need to have in mind. It may restate the issue into a slightly altered context you might need to consider, or it may underline and confirm your understanding of the situation as it exists at the moment. It is the starting point, and as such, describes what is "really going on."

**Card Position 2**
This is the counterpoint card. It adds more information, expands upon what exists in the situation, describes something else important that is very influential in the circumstances that exist. It fills in details, adds knowledge and color to the outlines formed by the material in the first card. It presents an "added dimension" for you to use, consider and work with.

**Card Position 3**
This card describes the "foundation" of the situation, the background, the history, perhaps the psychological reasons that have created the current circumstances.

**Card Position 4**
This card describes the past, the phase of the situation you are moving out of.

**Card Position 5**
This card describes the "potential" of the situation. By that, I mean it may describe the "larger lesson" the situation is moving to achieve -- what you will eventually "take away" from this experience in terms of personal growth, wisdom or permanent effects. It may take some time, distance and perspective to finally understand the true meaning of this card's message.

**Card Position 6**
This card describes the immediate future, the phase of the situation you are moving into, the short term results and experiences that are forming from this situation.

These first six cards reveal the situation as it is, but do not necessarily demonstrate what can be done to control or redirect it. This part of the message is found in the final four cards contained in the vertical column to the right of this six card constellation.

**Card Position 7**
This card represents YOU, your "true situation," what's "really happening" with you. It can reveal "the question behind the question". It can describe the most significant factor going on in this situation. It may also describe the part you are playing, consciously or unconsciously, in creating and / or maintaining this situation.

**Card Position 8**
This card represents your environment, the attitudes, people, circumstances and pressures that are somehow influencing the situation. It represents the "friends and adversaries" you are dealing with.

**Card Position 9**
This card describes the mental and emotional energy that is supporting or influencing the situation. It represents the "desires and fears" you are dealing with. It talks about "what's really on your mind" regarding this situation.

**Card Position 10**
This card describes the anticipated outcome of the situation as it exists now, the "destination" toward which this issue is heading. It describes the most likely attitude, circumstances, events or final result that will derive from what is unfolding. As a description of "the future," it is also a somewhat flexible state or condition, a conclusion which can either be encouraged with proper care and diligence or changed through making different choices and decisions. It is the "end of the matter" as it currently stands -- and yet it is also the possibility most easily influenced by the exercise of free will . . . yours or someone else's.
