March 21st thru April 20th |
You are the birthday child this month, charging into a brand new year in typical fashion, head down, dust flying, moving right along for all your worth. Well, for just a few minutes, find a stopping point and a comfortable chair, sit your impatient self down and let's take a look at what's in store for us over the next twelve months. (That's right, I'm one of you -- and couldn't be prouder of the fact. Although you'll also notice I myself have been running way too hard to even get this article posted "on time.")Enthusiasm is never a problem for the Aries soul. Neither is self-assertion. Neither is being downright pushy and tromping on toes when that's what it takes to get the job done. We are long on initiative and ambition and notoriously short on tact -- although many of us don't have the least inclination to apologize for that. Whoever first said, "Lead, follow or get out of the way," was an Aires through and through. (Only what that person really meant was "Let me lead, the rest of you follow, and God help anyone who doesn't get out of the way.")
Aries people believe in going for their goals by the most direct available route. We don't mean to be offensive; it just kind of happens that way sometimes. And it doesn't pour much oil on troubled waters when our response to complaints from less aggressive comrades (or victims) is, "I've got places to go and things to do. Build a bridge -- and get over it.")
This year, that attitude may become even more noticeable than usual. And it's no great secret in the first place. In mythology, Ares (yes, that's the correct spelling of the proper name) was a warrior. So too, at heart, are all those who share in the personal qualities of this sign.
The big news -- and I mean BIG NEWS for this year -- is the EXPANSION that is taking place in the lives of the Aries-born people. Some major new project -- or plateau of personal development -- has been "in the planning and preparation stages" for at least a year now, maybe longer -- whether you were aware of the eventual dimensions this was going to assume or not. NOW, NOW it is finally ready to stand up and be noticed in a much more public way.
Something important in the lives of all Aries-born people is due to reach a phenomenal level of growth in the coming twelve months. Just what this could be will, of course, depend on where all of this is occurring in your personal chart, but chances are, even if you have never had your chart officially cast and read for you, you know by now what this is and where it is occurring. (You are looking at what has been in preparation and is now expanding in this Aries lady's life. This website didn't happen overnight, and it is coming online now as Aries energy offers itself for use in my personal chart from the area of communication, information sharing, and intellectual exchange.)
It's a very exciting period for this Sun sign -- as we begin another twelve year cycle of personal growth and development, and most of us are not shy about showing our delight. (If you are a shy Aries, believe me, something else in your personal chart is blocking your expression of this extraordinarily assertive Aries energy -- and it is travelling through underground channels to find the light of day. Trust me, it's not getting lost; it's not going away. You are not handling life "better" than the rest of us. You may not be handling it well at all. But you are handling it differently.)
Anyway . . . the early born Aries star siblings (those with late March birthdays) are well on their way into the expression of this new energy of growth, opportunity, expansion, sharing, generosity, and "broadening of horizons." Those born in April . . . will encounter it progressively throughout the rest of their Solar Year -- as Jupiter in Aries moves through the sign to form a conjunction with each Aries person's natal Sun -- retrograding, in fact, beginning on August 24th from a position in early Taurus back to 25 degrees of Aries in December. (Keep in mind, in astrology, Solar Return years run from birthday to birthday, not January to January.)
Those Aries people born toward the very end of the sign, will, therefore, find the last months of the calendar year the most active for them -- as the new millineum dawns, and they also prepare to participate with characteristic vigor, in all the "improved fortunes" and other benefits this energy allows.
There are many qualities associated with Jupiter, its energy and its influence, that will describe all the new growth in Aries that is happening this year. First, there will be an element of definite mental and intellectual expansion in whatever is occurring in your life. You will be encountering new "learning opportunities" . . . as well as finding yourself called upon to offer your own authority in "teaching experiences."
This may be structured so that you simply find yourself offering your accumulated life's wisdom to others through advice and counselling more than is usual -- or has been usual lately. Or you may actually acquire some kind of formal academic training during this time. More involvement with writing and / or publishing may also be part of the mix. So may actual foreign travel or long distance travel -- although the function of this, which is the broadening of your cultural and intellectual horizons, can also be accomplished through books, self-study, even meditation, for those less inclined than others to leave the comforts of home or their padded recliners behind and "assume the position" in an airline seat.
There will be further expansion in your philosophical foundations, your social conscience and perspectives, your spiritual viewpoints -- even your religious underpinnings, if you are inclined along those more orthodox lines of thinking. All this is aimed at offering you greater prosperity in the coming years -- and viewing these encounters and situations with that in mind can help you take better advantage of their results by understanding in advance what this energy is trying to accomplish.
More money and more influence is very often the eventual result of what happens during this time -- although with twelve years to work on the whole development of what is starting to unfold now, there can be moments when new expansion in that area -- directly traceable back to what initially began here -- occurs again and again.
(I actually began studying astrology seriously . . . and I do mean seriously . . . during a period of Jupiter's progression through Aries, way too many years ago to count. (Ok, 1975, if you really have to know.) But obviously, what I described in the preceding paragraph was then happening for me, even though I didn't know it at the time. Certainly, you don't have to know consciously what's going on for this wonderful influence to work its magic. But it does help make things more efficient. And now you've just been told.)
One of the less delightful parts of this energy can be that you are feeling so overworked from taking on and incorporating all these new growth moments that you feel daunted by how much work there is to do and anxious about your capacity to handle it all.
(And one of the really aggravating aspects of all this "expansion" . . . is a very pronounced tendency to put on weight while all this is happening. Jupiter energy is great in many ways . . . but like the "Midas touch" . . . it "enhances and enlarges" everything it contacts -- including your hips and waistline. Gourmet food, after all, or at least plenty of it, is part of the "good life.")
If possible, take a moment (Right, like that's really going to find a welcome reception as a piece of advice to an Aries!) . . . breathe, and understand that while you do need to keep plugging along, you also do have twelve years in which to make this happen as it should.
I know it may not feel like it right now. You may be feeling pulled thin in way too many directions. But remember the advice about how to eat an elephant . . . one bite at a time. (As long as you're eating like a famished tiger anyway, hey, why not that for a new experience.) Keep moving. Prioritize. First things first, next things next. You will get there. I promise. And what doesn't get finished will be waiting at the beginning of the next twelve year cycle . . . for your attention then. It's all an evolutionary process, you know.
What's happening now, in addition to the public launching of your new personal enterprise -- whatever that may be -- is the accumulation of the "whole vision" of what you will be working to accomplish during this upcoming twelve years of growth and learning. Everything begins with an idea, after all. It helps to know where you're going . . . so you'll like where you end up at the conclusion. And the vision of what you want to achieve and experience on the trip . . . is fundamentally important to that.
The energy of this year is likely accompanied by an unusual sense of optimism and "luck," maybe even a sense of destiny and of having the wind at your back and God on your side. Jupiter energy is wonderfully bouyant in that way. Do enjoy that part of it. It's not a mirage; it's not an hallucination. It's not even all that temporary. It's real and you can trust it.
These upcoming days . . . have wonderful gifts to offer. You may feel you've been offered a free drawing from the most marvelous basket of goodies you could have asked for. I wouldn't argue with you . . . and I advise you not to argue with "the luck of the draw" either. Make a wish . . . and make it happen.
True, it's been a very sobering time over the last two and a half to three years . . . with Saturn moving through your sign instead of bountiful, benevolent Jupiter. Saturn represents structure, lack, hard work, responsibility, "nose to the grindstone, shoulder to the wheel" energy -- in spades. Life in the past few years may not have been much fun at all. But what you accomplished in this time was the creation of long-term structures that will serve as your anchors during the next 28 years.
At least you didn't put in all this work and take on all this sobering responsibility (and probably endure all this loneliness, in some cases, too) for nothing. In a way, therefore, this Jupiter transit marks a time of "just rewards" for all the recent trials and difficulties endured.
For the March-born Aries, the time of launch has already arrived. For the April-borns, the next several months will offer you the same time of ripe arrival also, although the expansion will take longer (as Jupiter Rx describes symbolically) and be more uphill before things finally clear out next year (as the Mars / Saturn opposition in your Solar Return describes also).
Consider this then your year of "preparation time" that the March birthdays have already invested. Next years' results will be worth it. Meanwhile . . . we all deserve the bounty. Let's enjoy it.
